Sad news

I spoke with one of our good friends from TX this morning and learned that Tom Bailey, our Small Group teacher at Prestonwood Baptist Church unexpectedly passed away yesterday afternoon. Tom and his wife, Brenda, made a big impact on our lives the three years we lived in Texas. Please join us in prayer for Brenda, their kids and all those Tom reached daily through his ministry (http://www.ichthusministries.org/index.html).

BIG Ultrasound!

Brandon and I went to our "big ultrasound (US)" this morning. This is the US that I mentioned a couple weeks ago, where the tech spends a lot of time looking at the anatomy of each baby. All in all, it went very well. Both babies are measuring 19 weeks, 3 days...I'm 19 weeks pregnant and measurements are +/- 7 days...translation...they are both growing right on target! They each weigh 10 oz. and are about 6 inches long, head to bottom. It's hard to say what position they're lying in because they were both moving around so much, esp. Baby Girl! We were able to see each one's 4-chamber heart, kidneys, stomach, brain, legs, hands, feet, etc.

Baby Boy, William Ross Norris has his head right at my bladder/cervix, which I guess explains all the trips I had to take to the bathroom last night! Baby Girl, Margaret Grace "Maggie" Norris is lying at the top of my uterus and is a "wild one," as the tech put it. She sure is a busy little thing! Brandon wasn't too happy about his little girl already being called "wild." :) A couple weeks ago, we were told that William's placenta was very close/touching my cervix, a condition called Placenta Previa that has some complications associated with it. His placenta has "moved" away from my cervix, so much so that they don't even label it as low-lying placenta. Hurdle #1 cleared! Thank you God! Now onto hurdle #2. Maggie has a choroid plexus cyst on one side of her brain. This is a very common occurrence and usually corrects itself by 28 weeks. I am not overly concerned and neither are the doctors. We are being sent to a Maternal Fetal Specialist on May 7 to have another look at the cyst. I'm excited about the visit because I'll be able to see the twins again and the US machine is really high-end, so we'll probably get some great pictures! Please join us in praying that the cyst goes away. Even with Maggie's cyst, both babies are considered very healthy and are doing great.

The rest of the visit was pretty normal. I've been having some of the same issues this pregnancy as I did with Jackson's. My heart at times will race/skip beats/beat hard. With Jackson I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse, but by the end of the pregnancy it had gone away. I am being sent to a cardiologist in the morning to see if that's what's going on again. My weight gain so far is on track with a singleton pregnancy, but because I'm showing so much I feel like I've gained too much, too early. If you haven't seen the pregnancy pics yet, scroll down on this webpage...I feel as big as I look. :)

Jackson's new bedding was delivered last week so we'll be working on moving him into his Big-boy room this month. I'm pretty excited! After we get him settled, we'll begin to get the nursery ready for the twins. Oh BOY!

I can't think of anything else right now...Brandon, let me know if I missed anything! We will put US pictures on the website soon!

Daddy's the man!

Last night Jackson and I went to the ballpark with Brandon to watch him play in a softball game. It was really fun! Jackson loved playing on the playground before the game started...he thinks he's in heaven anytime he gets to play outside (which we try to do a lot!). When the game started, Jackson and I sat on the bleachers and ate hotdogs as we cheered Brandon's team on. Their team won the game 24-14 and Brandon played really well. I was so proud of him! Since college, I have loved to watch Brandon on the softball field...he's that good, or maybe I'm just really into him :) Jackson was pretty impressed with his Dad, too. He spent a lot of the game standing at the gate yelling "Daddy, daddy!" Surprisingly, Jackson paid attention to most of the game, clapping for both teams when they hit the ball. All in all, it was a great night!

What's Kickin'?

The babies!

I've been feeling the babies move for a couple weeks now...rolls and small kicks. Last night, Brandon had his hand on my belly and was able to feel one of them kick!! It's such an awesome experience to feel two babies moving around in there...I'm told eventually I'll be able to tell which baby is kicking me, instead of guessing low kicks are Baby Boy and high kicks are Baby Girl. I'm really looking forward to that!

Keep those kicks comin'!!

Picture time!

Indulge me as I share a few pictures :)

This first one is of Jackson laughing because his preschool teacher had just "gotten" his belly! Daddy is in the background...we were there for Jackson's Easter Egg Hunt.

***************************************************

We had an Easter Egg hunt at Granddaddy & Nene's house. It was a lot of fun! Jackson yelled the color of each egg before picking them up. Instead of putting the egg's in his basket, he would open them, eat the treat, then put it in his basket. It took he and Morgan about 10 minutes to pick up all the eggs in the yard :) Peppy and Brea (Jen's sister) were both in town and able to join in the festivities.

Just for fun...Scary hair! Just up from a nap and helping Daddy "work."

One of Jackson and Morgan favorite things to do at
Granddaddy & Nene's house is to play in the
tupperware cabinet...

Pregnancy Pictures...
In these pics I am 18 weeks pregnant...keep in mind there are two babies in there :)

Jackson loves to kiss my belly...he's gives two kisses, one for each baby.

That's it! Have a great week!

It's a Boy! It's a Girl!

You read it right...Brandon and I are doubly blessed to be adding a sweet boy and a precious girl to our family! We are very excited to round our family out to 2 boys and a girl...it feels a little weird to say that! Peppy (my mom) bought Jackson a set of boy/girl twin baby dolls, which he has been taking care of...he feeds them their bottles, hugs & kisses them and helps them go night-night. Usually he's pretty gentle with them, though at times the 2 year old boy in him comes out and he'll fling one of the dolls across the room by their leg. Obviously, we've got some work to do in the "gentle" department :)

My last appointment with the OB went very well (last Wednesday). I was 15 weeks, 2 days at that point. Since I'm pregnant with twins the doctor didn't even attempt to hear their heartbeats with a doppler because she was afraid she wouldn't be able to differentiate between the two heartbeats. Instead I was very excited to be sent down the hall to have an ultrasound. The babies are so big and both look great! Both babies were laying horizontal across by belly at the time of the ultrasound. Baby A (boy) is laying low near my hips and Baby B (girl) is higher up around my belly button. We have some great pictures which we will try to get uploaded tonight. I go back on April 30th for my "big" ultrasound. That's the appointment where people usually find out what sex they're having, so we shouldn't have any news in that department unless something changes between now and then :) At that ultrasound the technician will spend a lot of time looking at each baby's anatomy. They will measure bones, check organ development, etc. Please pray that everything goes well...we, thankfully, have no reason to expect a problem.

Jackson spent the last week in Dothan with Brandon's family at Mimi & Doff's house. It was a little rough for me saying bye to him in Montgomery (read: sobbing), but he was oblivious. Mimi didn't let us talk to him all week because she didn't want to him to get homesick :) We talked to her everyday to check up on him. He had a BLAST! They played at Mimi's house, in the playroom with trains & keyboard, outside with his popper toy and at the park. He got to go to Coleman's ball game one night and Tonya/Cassidy watched him. He adores older boys and I know he had the best time watching them play ball. Jackson had a ringpop for the first time and ended up with a blue mouth/face...pretty funny. Jackson adores his cousins, Cassidy and Coleman, and they are so good with him.

Brandon and I made it to Dothan at 2:30 a.m. (our time) Thursday night. We pushed to get down there because we wanted to be there when Jackson woke up the next morning. The trip was exhausting, but totally worth it to wake up on Friday morning with our precious boy climbing into bed to snuggle with us.

We had a great Easter weekend in Dothan visiting with family and spending time at the baby store getting idea's :) We loaded up the Tahoe after lunch on Sunday and made the drive back to Atlanta. Jackson and George were both asleep before we pulled out of the neighborhood! Thanks again, Mimi, for taking care of Jackson for a week!

Last Friday I had a message from Jackson's pediatrician that the culture on his head came back normal, so it looks like the spot of hair loss is not a fungal infection. We're bummed, but are still waiting for the dermatologist to get his report back. Jackson's next appointment with the dermatologist is 4/23 and we appreciate any prayers. If he does have Alopecia, we pray that the hair loss will not continue and that the hair will return. We'll keep you updated.

Guess that's it for now. I will try to update this site pretty often, so keep checking back.
