Jumping is Hard Work!

Maggie had fun in the jumparoo this afternoon...that is until she fell asleep :) Sweet baby girl!!

Jackson did great getting his staples out last Friday. I anticipated that it would be a bit traumatic for him...boy was I wrong! It took just a few minutes to get the staples out and Jackson was a champ! He didn't fuss or even flinch. I was so proud and relieved!

The twins started going to Marianne's (Jackson's old babysitter) one morning a week last Friday. It's a big job to take care of twins and a 3 year old and I was in desperate need of some downtime. Thankfully, Brandon is very supportive of me and agreed that I needed some help one day a week. I'm very glad to be able to take them to Marianne's since I know her and trust that she will love on them the 4 hours they are at her house. My first Friday of "freedom" was spent getting a manicure/pedicure :), but in the future I plan to use the time to run errands or do other things that it's hard to do with the kids. Tomorrow morning while they are at Marianne's I'll be packing for a trip down to Dothan.

Jackson treated us to another trip to the ER last weekend...that's two weekends in a row! He woke up early Sunday morning with a very high fever that didn't respond to motrin and complaining that his neck hurt. Our pediatrician was concerned about meningitis and sent us to get Jackson checked out. We were very thankful to farm William out to Adam & Jenny and Maggie out to Dad & Janine. It was an answer to prayer to find out the Jackson just had a bad URI and after 3 days of fever he's feeling much better (and WILL be going to school tomorrow!). Unfortunately, I came down with his cold and have been sick the last couple days...I've never felt so bad from a cold my whole life. I'm still not 100%. Brandon has been awesome...home from work the last 2 days taking care of us and keeping the house running. William started having a fever last night...please pray with us that the twins and Brandon do not get sick.

As I mentioned earlier, we're excited to beheading to Dothan this weekend to visit family. I ask for you prayers concerning Ross. He and Margaret were out in Houston this week at MD Anderson for his quarterly check-up. Two suspicious spots were found in his neck and will be biopsied tomorrow morning at 9am...surgery has been preliminarily scheduled for next Wednesday. Please pray that the spots are benign and that the doctors get all the info they need from the biopsies. Please also pray for Ross and Margaret's spirits and for safe travels as they are driving home on Friday and possibly back out to Houston on Monday.

The twins are continuing to grow and change so quickly. They are sweet babies and generally pretty mellow...but, don't get me wrong, they definitely let you know when they are frustrated/hungry/tired/cranky, etc. They will be 5 months on the 20th!

Last but not least...pictures!! I have no idea why some of the pics are sideways...I edited them all before uploading to http://www.slide.com/ - looks like I need some more practice! Click on the slide show to read the captions. If the pictures don't show up click "view all pictures". Enjoy :)

Always an Adventure...

Jackson and Mommy at hospital Last night was our first trip to the ER for one of our children...not a "first" that we looked forward to and we are very glad that it's now behind us!

Yesterday was beautiful in Atlanta so we spent the afternoon outside with the kids. Jackson jumped on his trampoline and played with his friend Cole while the twins watched from their exersaucers. About 4pm, Jackson was running and somehow collided into the chair was sitting in...the chair won. Jackson ended up with a laceration on the side of his head in the shape of a Nike "swoosh". After much deliberation we finally decided to take him to the ER to get checked out (hoping to be sent home quickly because he didn't need stitches). No such luck. Jackson is now the proud (not really) owner of two staples. He was a trooper during the traumatic trip to the ER. It was a scary experience for him and not too fun for us, either! I think that if Jackson had asked for the moon afterward, Brandon would have done his best to give it to him. Thankfully, all he asked for was pancakes :) So after a pancake dinner and an ice cream sundae, we headed home to pick up the twins from our neighbors and get all the kids into bed. The twins went to bed as soon as we got home and slept until 8am. Jackson and I made a bed on the couch and snuggled all night (I had to take advantage of the situation...it's not too often that I get to snuggle my big boy!).

We go back on Friday to have the staples removed. That ought to be fun...prayers would be appreciated!!

Happy Birthday, Brandon!

You are an exceptional husband, father and provider...the kids and I are proud to claim you as "ours". Hope you're enjoying your night off :) (the kids and I are in Auburn visiting family)
